NARFE Laurel Chapter 422: More Sad News – Passing of Clarence “Blackie” Blackstock

It is with great sadness that the President and Board Members of Chapter 422 let you know of the death of Clarence “Blackie” Blackstock last night, January 29, 2020.  He had just turned 93 last week. His wife Joanne, also a chapter member, preceded him in death in 2017.  He leaves
two sons, Dean and Kent.

Blackie was a longtime member of our chapter and our institutional memory.  We all counted on him in terms of the history of the chapter; Bylaws; nominations and election process; and so much more.  He was a past president of the chapter and served many years as chair of the Bylaws Committee and chair of the Nominating Committee.  Most recently, he served the chapter as our NARFE-Net Coordinator, maintaining members’ email addresses for use in e-mailing newsletters and important information.

The arrangements for Blackie’s funeral are not yet available.
