The U.S. Postal Service Has Never Been More Important, or More Endangered

Dr. Gary Roundtree Sr., President of NARFE/MD and Edward Holland, NARFE/MD Liaison with the Alliance for Retired Americans, encourage NARFE members in Maryland to sign the ARA petition to Congress to save the U.S. Postal Service.  See message below from ARA Executive Director to President of the Maryland/DC Alliance for Retired Americans.

Dear Susan,

U.S. Postmaster General Megan Brennan says the coronavirus crisis is threatening the U.S. Postal Service’s ability to operate beyond September 2020! Its future is literally in doubt.

The Trump administration has told Congress that it will block ANY emergency relief that allows the Postal Service to keep delivering the mail. This is an outrage.

This course of action is insane and dangerous. Without the USPS, voters literally won’t be able to vote by mail come the 2020 election. Help us keep this from happening by signing our petition to Congress.

We depend on the Postal Service for so much — to deliver critical mail, medicines, packages every day to every address in the country — and to help make sure every American can vote in this challenging time.

Of course, extremists have tried to sell off the Postal Service for years — but the threat has never been more real.

We have to get the American people and Congress to unite and force President Trump to back down, save 900,000 jobs AND ensure a safe and secure election come November.

Please click here to sign our petition now.

We promise to keep you posted as this develops.

Thanks for all you do.

Richard Fiesta
